McIvor Baptist Church is a very old
& very small country church. As of right now, we do not have
many members, only about 30. We have been going through some
major changes in our church.
Our old preacher was offered a full time preaching job somewhere
else and he decided that it was
best for him and his family. The church really misses him a lot,
but we understand that that is what
he needed to do. So now we are going through the process of
finding a new permanent pastor. We also
have had any other changes in the positions of the church. My
sister-in-law is one of the new Sunday
school teachers for the children, and we are trying very hard to
bring in a lot more children. We also
are going to start on some renovations for the church. The church
does not have any insulation or
underpinning. So as you can imagine in the winter it gets very
cold and all we have is wall heaters.
Same goes for the summer, it gets very hot and we have window A/C
units. We also want to put up
siding to make the church look better. The last thing that we
have to do is have our pews reupholstered.
About a year ago we hired someone to upholster and cushion our
pews. He ripped us off. He only done
about six of them and those are not only horrible looking because
you can see nails sticking out and the
stuffing is coming out. It is very dangerous for the children
because of those nails. We do not have the
money to do all of the things that need to be done. But we are
going to try to do one thing at a time and
hopefully our attendance will increase. If you have any questions
