Churches by Denomination

The Mennonite church is a Protestant group based around the church communities of the Christian Anabaptist denominations named after Menno Simons of Friesland. With over 1.5 million Mennonites worldwide, they are commonly recognized by their "plain" way of dress; although not all of them are this way. Most Mennonite churches can be found in the United States, Canada, Ethiopia and Democratic Republic of the Congo. Mennonite theology emphasizes the teachings of Jesus as recorded in New Testament scripture. They hold in common the ideal of a religious community based on New Testament models and imbued with the spirit of the Sermon on the Mount.
