CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH OF RAYMOND

Raymond | New Hampshire | 03077 | Congregational

P.O. BOX 372, ONE CHURCH STREET Raymond New Hampshire 03077 US

Our mission is to teach the Truth in Love, welcoming all to worship our Holy,

Sovereign God, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

The church seeks to accomplish our mission through:

1. Sunday School program to help people learn and apply Jesus’s teachings.

Classes provided for age 3 to adult. The Sunday School program runs from

September through May.

2. Regular Worship service teaching from God’s Word and sharing in the

celebration of the Lord’s Supper the first Sunday of each month.

Throughout the year we invite you to worship at special celebrations:

Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, 2 Easter Services, National Day

of Prayer and 2 Christmas Eve Services. Nursery service is available.

3. Believing fellowship to be an important part of our Christian experience,

we invite you to share in other activities throughout the year as we seek to

expand our vision while working to build a stronger Church.

We the Congregation seek to reach out to the greater Raymond community.

The Church is located across for the beautiful town common. It was first

organized in 1834 and rebuilt at its present site after a fire destroyed much

of the downtown area in 1892. in 1987, the sanctuary received a major facelift

which included restoring the pews and refinishing the pipe organ.

The Church preserves the qualities that have made Congregationalism a

New England tradition for over two hundred years. Among these qualities

are the democratic makeup where each member has an equal say in Church

affairs and a flexibility that allows all to worship in a way that will be meaningful.

The Church structure features officers elected at the annual meeting that

includes a Moderator, Vice Moderator, a Church Clerk, Treasurer and

Financial Secretary. Also, at this time the elections are held for the

Diaconate, Trustees, Christian Education, Missions Committee,

Music Committee, Flower Committee and Sunday School Officers.

Within the church body, there are many different organizations for one to

participate in. They consist of the Men’s Group, Women’s Evening Fellowship,

Bible Study, Bell Choir and Voice Choirs.

From these organizations come many Church functions such as the Annual

Chicken BBQ the last Saturday in July, Annual Bean Tavern Supper the

first weekend in December to ring in the new Christmas Season, Christmas Fair

and Rummage Sales.

The Deacons host pot luck suppers once a month to promote fellowship

among members and friends as an informal way to get to know one another.

As a service to the community the Deacons, along with the Raymond High

School Student Council, distribute Thanksgiving baskets to less fortunate families.

During the summer we offer a Vacation Bible School Program.

We have a new supply Pastor, her name is Ginny Slawnwhite.

The Congregational Church of Raymond welcomes all people to share in worship,

the joy of fellowship and a challenge of leading a Christian life.

You are invited to call the Church office at for further information or

assistance.
