Covington United Presbyterian Church was established in 1828 as a
vital congregation with strong traditional rural and family roots.
Located in a rich agricultural area, it has maintained its stewardship
connection with the people and their land. Changing demographics
offer new opportunities and challenges for mission, ministry and
service. The Church looks forward to continuing the spiritual
leadership it has provided its members and sharing the love and
blessing God has bestowed with all who seek close Christian fellowship
with a community minded and globally concerned congregation.
Covington centers its multi-generational worship services to satisfy
worshipers spiritually and emotionally with Bible based sermons and
a strong musical heritage. Continually cherishing, sustaining, and
supporting current members, the Church realizes the need for ministry
to all members of the Church, particularly to the children, youth, and
young adults. We will emphasize support of all present groups within
the congregation and seek the development of new ministry initiatives,
always welcoming the community to join. Stimulating and encouraging
new leadership throughout the Church will not only be a challenge, but
a source of satisfaction for us as we seek to discern the gifts of the
Spirit God has bestowed upon this congregation. While embracing its
heritage, Covington is dedicated to preserving Christian values and
