Diakonos Independent Ministries of Maryland does not operate a church in the typical definition. Much like the Disciples and Apostles of Jesus Christ in the years following his resurrection and ascension to heaven we are about ministering about the holy trinity of God, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit out in the community. We believe the “Church” is anywhere people gather to worship or learn about God and Christianity. This could be a park, a home, a campsite, even a table at a restaurant.

This “old school” methodology allows us to meet the community in the middle. This also provides us the ability to adapt services to the community’s needs or situations. We do not see ourselves as “Street Corner Preachers” We see ourselves more as flexible preachers. A minister where you need them.
If you are a member of a church, that’s great we encourage you to continue that relationship with your church family. We provide ministry services that help fill the gap that can sometimes be inconvenient for you in your regular Pastor or Church’s schedule. We will gladly coordinate with and keep your pastor involved if that is your wish.
Though we offer some Ministry Services for a fee (Such as Wedding Services), our core work is spreading God’s Glory and the Miracles of Jesus Christ, however, and where ever we can in the area we serve. We want to be available to help any struggling Church or Community grow in Christ Jesus. We want to be able to use our resources to help strengthen Communities and Churches that need that extra jolt. We believe worship should be comfortable and fun in our perspective. To us, Denomination does not matter, as long as God is, above all, Jesus Christ is the Savior of Mankind, and the Holy Spirit Dwells.
One of our focus areas is assisting Churches that are lacking in Lay Leaders or are overburdened by Pastoral Care and Visitation Matters. Not all Churches have a higher Denominational Organization to rely on in times of need. We want to be that helping hand. We want to be that extra help to lighten the load when a Church Pastor may be recovering from an illness. To help raise leaders within the Church and Community to make the Church strong enough to sustain and succeed.
Sometimes, people just need a shoulder to lean on, someone to confide in, and pray with. Or just someone to listen. We are willing to be there. It could be on the phone or merely sitting on a bench somewhere.
